Overview
Universal Search allows members to find anything in your community — posts, members, groups, courses, events, articles, and blogs — from one unified search interface.
What's Searchable
When available, members will be able to search across:
- Members — by name or username
- Posts — by content text
- Groups — by name and description
- Courses — by title and description
- Events — by title and description
- Articles — by title and content
- Blogs — by title and content
How It Works
Search is powered by Typesense, a fast search engine that runs alongside your community. Content is automatically indexed as it's created or updated, so search results are always current.
Results are grouped by content type, so members can quickly find what they're looking for. Search respects access permissions — members only see content they have access to.
Tips
- Search indexes update automatically — no manual action needed
- Results are ranked by relevance, with exact matches appearing first
