What to Expect
The Chat feature will allow members to communicate privately through:
- Direct Messages — one-on-one conversations between two members
- Group Conversations — multi-person chat rooms with role-based management
- Message Features — text, editing, deletion, and read indicators
Key Capabilities (Planned)
- Real-time message delivery
- Conversation membership roles (admin, member)
- Last-read tracking so members know where they left off
- Message editing and deletion
- Integration with the notification system
Current Status
This feature is in the planning phase. The data architecture is designed and ready, but the user interface and real-time messaging infrastructure are still in development.
