Chat and Messaging

Status: Coming Soon Private one-to-one messaging between community members. Designed and in active development — not yet available in your community. Overview The Chat module brings real-time private one-to-one conversations to your TribeCrafter community. Members can message each other directly alongside the public newsfeed — no purchase, connection, or follow required (any verified, onboarded member can message any other member). The first release focuses on doing 1:1 messaging really well. Group chat and several power features are planned for a later phase (see below). What's in the first release Direct Messages (1:1) - Start a private conversation with any other member. - Send text, images, files, and GIFs, plus shared links with rich previews (the same link previews you see in the newsfeed). - Reply to quote and respond to a specific message. - React to messages with emoji. Staying in sync - Read receipts — see when your message has been seen. - Typing indicators — see when the other person is typing. - Online presence — see who's currently online. - Unread counts — a badge per conversation and a global unread count on the chat icon. Controls - Mute a conversation to silence its notifications. - Block a member — blocked members can't message you. Where to find it - A chat icon in the navigation bar. - A Message button on member profiles. Planned for a later phase These are designed for after the first release and are not in the initial version: - Group chat (multi-person conversations, group name/icon, member management) - Voice messages and camera capture - Forwarding messages to another conversation - Editing and deleting sent messages - @mentions inside chat - In-chat reporting / moderation - Audio and video calls Related - Managing Members - Connections and Social Graph - Notification System

CRM and Member Engagement Engine

Status: Planned Contact management, segmentation, and behavior-driven automation. This feature is not yet available. Overview The CRM module will be a behavior-driven engagement engine built into your community. It will help you track member activity, segment your audience, and automate responses to member behavior -- all without leaving the TribeCrafter admin panel. Planned Features Trigger-Action System The CRM will work on a simple trigger-action model. When a member's behavior matches a trigger, the system will automatically perform a configured action. | Trigger Example | Action Example | |----------------|----------------| | Member joins the community | Auto-tag as "New Joiner," add to welcome sequence | | Member has not logged in for 10 days | Flag as "At Risk," send reminder notification or email | | Member completes onboarding | Assign "Engaged" tag, unlock access to a group | | Member posts more than 10 times | Tag as "Top Contributor," eligible for reward | | Admin manually tags member as "Premium" | Move to segment, show exclusive content | | Member reacts to 20+ posts in a week | Highlight in dashboard, notify admin | | Member downgrades plan | Add to retention workflow, send survey | Member Segmentation You will be able to create and manage member segments based on: - Tags (manually assigned or auto-assigned by triggers) - Activity level (active, at risk, power user) - Last login date - Subscription status - Engagement metrics Admin Dashboard The CRM dashboard will provide: - Member list with filters -- Search and filter by tags, activity, last login, and more. - Action center -- Bulk message, assign badges, move members between segments. - Timeline per member -- A complete activity log and key interaction history. - Segment management -- Create, edit, and monitor segments like "New Joiners," "At Risk," "Power Users." Integration with Gamification The CRM and Gamification modules will share the same trigger system. A single member action (e.g., "posted 10 times") can both: - Tag the member in the CRM for admin tracking. - Award points or unlock an achievement in the gamification system. The key difference: CRM is admin-facing (member management), while gamification is member-facing (visible rewards). What the CRM Will Not Do Initially - External marketing tool integrations (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot) - Advanced email automation sequences - Export to external CRM systems - Revenue attribution and ROI tracking Related - Gamification - Managing Members - Notification System
