Status: Available How members collect products before checking out, including how the cart works for logged-out visitors.
Overview
The shopping cart lets members gather one or more products before paying for them in a single checkout. It works for both logged-in members and logged-out visitors browsing your community.
How it works for your members
- Members add products to their cart from a product's page.
- A product can only be in the cart once — your products grant access (like a course, group, or download), so there are no quantities to choose.
- Members review everything in the cart, then check out and pay in one step.
- Coupon codes can be applied in the cart before checkout (if you've set any up).
Logged-out visitors
Visitors don't have to sign in to start shopping:
- A visitor's cart is saved in their browser for up to 7 days.
- When they sign up or log in, that cart automatically merges into their account — nothing is lost, and duplicates are removed.
This lets people explore and add items first, and only create an account when they're ready to buy.
What admins should know
- The cart is for products (one-time purchases). Recurring plans/subscriptions are handled through their own checkout, not the cart.
- Coupons available in the cart are the ones you configure in your monetization settings.
- Completed purchases appear in Orders and Payments.
