Status: Available How members control which email notifications they receive.
Overview
Each member can configure which types of notifications trigger an email. This is managed through their profile settings, but as an admin you can see and understand the preferences.
Master Switch
Master Email Opt-In — if a member turns this off, ALL email notifications are disabled regardless of individual settings.
Individual Email Preferences
When the master switch is on, members can toggle emails for:
| Preference | What Triggers It |
|---|---|
| Friend Request | Someone sends them a friend request |
| Friend Request Accepted | Their friend request is accepted |
| Group Activity | New posts in their groups |
| Group Addition | They're added to a group |
| Private Message | They receive a direct message |
| Comment Events | Replies to their posts or comments |
| Announcement | You publish a new announcement |
| Content Report | A content report is filed (admin only) |
Tips
- Members manage their own preferences — you can view but shouldn't edit them
- The master switch is the most important setting. If it's off, nothing else matters
- Encourage members to keep at least Friend Request and Private Message enabled for engagement
- The Content Report email preference is only relevant for admin/moderator accounts
