From time to time the people running your community will want to tell everyone something. They do that with announcements, which show up in your alerts so you don't miss the news.
Where announcements appear
Announcements posted by your community's admins land in your alerts. Open your alerts to read what's been shared.
Marking announcements as read
You can mark announcements as read individually or clear them all at once. Announcements from your admins also appear as a dismissible banner at the top of the page (separate from your alerts list) — dismiss it and it stays gone until the admin changes it.
New content shows up too
Separate from announcements, when your community publishes something new it may appear as a card in your newsfeed. So if a new course or event goes up, you might spot it scrolling the feed as well as hearing about it any other way the community shares it.
