Managing or cancelling your subscription

Last updated on Jul 23, 2026

Status: Available Switch plans, update your billing, or cancel, and understand what happens to your access when a subscription ends.

Once you're subscribed to a plan, you can change it, manage how you're billed, or cancel. Here's how each one works and what to expect.

Switching to a different plan

You can have only one active subscription at a time. So when you switch to a different plan, the new plan replaces your current one. You don't end up with two.

When you switch, the access you get becomes whatever the new plan includes. If the old plan unlocked something the new one doesn't, that access goes away with the old plan.

Timing depends on the direction. Upgrading to a higher-tier plan takes effect immediately (you're charged a prorated amount for the rest of the period). Downgrading is scheduled for your next renewal — your current plan keeps running until then — and you can cancel a scheduled downgrade before it takes effect.

Managing your billing

Billing is handled through Stripe. To update your card, see your invoices, or cancel, you open the Stripe billing portal from the community. That secure portal is where you manage the payment side of your subscription.

What happens when a subscription ends

A plan's access is live. It lasts only while the subscription is active. If you cancel, your access doesn't cut off right away — it continues until the end of the period you've already paid for, then ends when the subscription actually lapses. The same applies if it simply stops renewing.

That means:

  • Courses unlocked by the plan are no longer open to you.
  • Groups unlocked by the plan close to you again.
  • Premium blog posts unlocked by the plan go back to showing only the preview.

If you've also bought a one-time product, that's separate. A product's access isn't tied to your subscription, so cancelling a plan doesn't touch anything a product unlocked.
