Buying a product

Status: Available Add products to your cart, check out, and unlock the courses, groups, and premium blog posts a product includes. A product is a one-time purchase. You pay once, and it unlocks whatever access the product comes with. There's no recurring charge. How buying works 1. Find a product you want and add it to your cart. The cart holds products only, so you won't see plans or courses sitting in there. 2. Open your cart and check out. 3. Payment is handled by Stripe on a secure checkout page. Enter your card details there. 4. Once the payment goes through, your access is unlocked right away. Products are paid, so checkout includes a payment step. Free content — like free groups and free courses — isn't bought through a product; you just join it directly. What a product unlocks You don't buy a course, a group, or a premium blog on its own. Instead, a product (or a plan) unlocks them for you. A single product can include any mix of: - One or more courses, which you're enrolled in automatically once the purchase completes. - One or more groups, including private groups you couldn't join before. - Premium blog posts, which you'll then be able to read in full instead of just the preview. What's included is decided by the community when they set the product up, so check the product page to see what you're getting. How long the access lasts Each product gives you one of two kinds of access: - Lifetime. The access stays yours and doesn't expire. - For a set period. The access lasts a fixed amount of time and then ends. The product page tells you which kind it is before you buy. A note on subscriptions A product is a one-time payment. If you're looking at something that charges every month or every year, that's a plan, not a product, and you subscribe to it instead. Plans don't go in the cart. Subscribing to a plan

Status: Available Subscribe to a plan for recurring access to the courses, groups, and premium blog posts it includes. A plan is a subscription. Instead of paying once, you pay on a repeating schedule, and your access lasts for as long as the subscription is active. Monthly or yearly Plans renew on a set cycle. Depending on what the community offers, a plan bills either: - Every month, or - Every year. The plan page shows the price and how often you're charged before you commit. How subscribing works 1. Pick the plan you want and start checkout. 2. Payment is handled by Stripe on a secure page. Enter your card details there. 3. Once the subscription is active, the access is unlocked right away and stays unlocked while you keep the subscription. Plans are paid, so checkout always includes a payment step. Free content — like free groups and free courses — doesn't need a plan or a payment; you just join it directly. What a plan unlocks Like a product, a plan unlocks access rather than being a thing you "own." You don't subscribe to a course, group, or blog directly. The plan unlocks them. A plan can include: - Courses, which you're enrolled in automatically while the subscription is active. - Groups, including private groups. - Premium blog posts, which you can then read in full. The difference from a product is that this access is live. It's tied to your subscription staying active, not granted once and kept. One subscription at a time You can have one active subscription at a time. If you're already subscribed and you choose a different plan, the new one replaces your current one rather than stacking on top of it. There's more on that in the article on managing your subscription. Related - Buying a product - Managing or cancelling your subscription - What you've unlocked, and your wishlist

Managing or cancelling your subscription

Status: Available Switch plans, update your billing, or cancel, and understand what happens to your access when a subscription ends. Once you're subscribed to a plan, you can change it, manage how you're billed, or cancel. Here's how each one works and what to expect. Switching to a different plan You can have only one active subscription at a time. So when you switch to a different plan, the new plan replaces your current one. You don't end up with two. When you switch, the access you get becomes whatever the new plan includes. If the old plan unlocked something the new one doesn't, that access goes away with the old plan. Timing depends on the direction. Upgrading to a higher-tier plan takes effect immediately (you're charged a prorated amount for the rest of the period). Downgrading is scheduled for your next renewal — your current plan keeps running until then — and you can cancel a scheduled downgrade before it takes effect. Managing your billing Billing is handled through Stripe. To update your card, see your invoices, or cancel, you open the Stripe billing portal from the community. That secure portal is where you manage the payment side of your subscription. What happens when a subscription ends A plan's access is live. It lasts only while the subscription is active. If you cancel, your access doesn't cut off right away — it continues until the end of the period you've already paid for, then ends when the subscription actually lapses. The same applies if it simply stops renewing. That means: - Courses unlocked by the plan are no longer open to you. - Groups unlocked by the plan close to you again. - Premium blog posts unlocked by the plan go back to showing only the preview. If you've also bought a one-time product, that's separate. A product's access isn't tied to your subscription, so cancelling a plan doesn't touch anything a product unlocked. What you've unlocked, and your wishlist

Status: Available See how your purchases map to what you can now access, and use your wishlist to save things you're interested in. After you buy a product or subscribe to a plan, that purchase unlocks access for you. Here's how to make sense of what's now open to you, and how to keep track of things you might want later. How a purchase maps to access You don't buy a course, group, or blog on its own. You buy a product or subscribe to a plan, and that unlocks the content bundled into it. So what you can access is the sum of everything your purchases include: - Courses you've unlocked appear ready to start. With a product, you stay enrolled. With a plan, you stay enrolled while the subscription is active. - Groups you've unlocked, including private ones, are open for you to take part in. - Premium blog posts you've unlocked show the full post instead of a preview. If you can't reach something you expected to, check whether it was actually part of what you bought, and (for plans) whether your subscription is still active. Product access can be lifetime or last a set period, and plan access lasts only while the subscription is active. Your wishlist The wishlist is for saving things you're interested in but haven't acted on yet. You can add a product, course, group, or blog to it, and come back to it later. Saving something to your wishlist doesn't unlock or buy it. It's just a bookmark for you. No coupons There are no coupons or discount codes. The price you see on a product or plan is the price you pay, so there's no code to enter at checkout. Related - Buying a product - Subscribing to a plan - Managing or cancelling your subscription
