Finding your way around
Status: Available A quick tour of the main areas of your community and what's free for everyone versus what needs a
purchase.
Once you're in, here's a friendly tour of the main areas so you know where everything lives.
The newsfeed
The newsfeed is the heart of the community. It's where members share posts and you can react, comment, and join the
conversation. You can sort the feed by newest, recent activity, or what's popular. Posts can include text, images,
polls, and @mentions of other members, and you can save a post to come back to it later.
Groups
Groups are spaces for focused discussion. You can join public groups freely. Some groups are private or premium and open
up once you have the right purchase or plan. You join and take part in groups, but creating or editing groups is handled
by the community's admins.
Courses
Courses let you learn at your own pace. Free courses you can enroll in directly. Paid courses unlock when you buy a
product or subscribe to a plan. Lessons can be video, text, or files, your progress is tracked as you go, and you may
earn a certificate when you finish.
Events
You can browse the community's events and RSVP with a yes. You can also add an event to your own calendar. Events are
created by the community's admins, so you'll see them rather than make them.
Messages
Messages are private one-to-one conversations with other members. You can send text, images, files, and GIFs, react to
messages, and see read receipts, typing, and who's online. Anyone can message anyone unless someone has been blocked.
There's no group chat, and once you send a message you can't edit or delete it.
Search
The search bar finds posts, members, groups, courses, events, blog posts, products, and plans. You'll only see results
you're allowed to access. Search doesn't look inside individual lessons, chat messages, or blog comments.
Notifications
The notifications bell shows you things as they happen: mentions, replies, reactions, new connections and followers,
group updates, course updates, and event reminders. Some notifications may also reach you by email. In Settings →
Notifications you control email delivery (a master email switch plus an activity-digest email); in-app notifications
always show in the bell.
Your community's admins can also post announcements, which show up in your alerts. You mark them all read together.
What's free and what needs a purchase
Most of the community is free for everyone:
- Signing up and setting up your profile
- The newsfeed: posting, commenting, reacting, and polls
- Following and connecting with members
- Direct messages
- Public groups
- Public blog posts, read in full
- Browsing courses, events, products, and plans
Some things need a purchase or subscription to unlock:
- Paid courses, bought through a product or plan
- Private or premium groups, opened up by a product or plan
- Premium blog posts, which show a short preview until you have access
You never buy a course, group, or blog on its own. You buy a one-time product or subscribe to a plan, and that unlocks
whatever it includes. A one-time product gives you access that's either permanent or lasts a set time. A subscription
gives you access while it's active, and you can have one active subscription at a time.
