What is TribeCrafter

What TribeCrafter gives you, what your members can do, and where you run it all. TribeCrafter gives you your own community, under your name and brand. Members post, join groups, take courses, read your blog, come to events and message each other. You can sell access to your content and keep what you earn. Each community runs on its own: its own database, file storage and search. Nothing is shared with other communities. Two places you use | Place | What you do there | |---|---| | Your TribeCrafter account (app.tribecrafter.net) | Create your community, and manage your TribeCrafter plan, billing and invoices. | | Studio | Everything about one community: setup, members, content, selling and settings. | You create your TribeCrafter account first. Then you create your community from it. TribeCrafter account "Create your account" form: Your name, Email, Password, Create account To open Studio, see Open Studio. What your community has | Part | What it is | Can you turn it off? | |---|---|---| | News Feed | Posts, comments, reactions and polls. | No, always on | | Groups | Spaces for a topic, a class or a cohort. Free or paid. | No, always on | | Members | The member list and profiles. Members follow and connect with each other. | No, always on | | Courses | Lessons, videos and progress tracking. | Yes, while none is live | | Blog | Articles, free or for paying members. | Yes, while none is live | | Events | Online and in-person events with RSVPs. | Yes, while none is live | | Chat | Private messages between members. | Yes | You don't have to use every part. Turn off what you don't use in Settings → Features. See Turn features on or off. How members join 1. A member signs up on your community with an email and a password, and confirms the email. 2. They go through onboarding: your welcome screen, their profile, and your community guidelines, which they accept. 3. Then they are in. If members already have an account on your own website or app, they can sign in with it instead. Your developer sets this up in Settings → Sign-in & SSO. How you earn - Free content: a group or course that anyone can join for free, or a public blog post. - Plans: members pay monthly or yearly for what the plan unlocks. - Products: members pay once for what the product unlocks. You don't put a price on a group or course itself. You sell it through a plan or a product. There are no free plans or products. To give something away, make the group or course free, or make the blog post public. Members pay through your own Stripe account. TribeCrafter takes no fee from your sales. Stripe charges its own card fee. You need Stripe only when you sell something. To learn more, see How access and selling work. Going live A new community starts with a holding page. It goes live by itself when 6 checks are done: name, logo, welcome heading, welcome text, community guidelines and one published group. See Your go-live checklist.
