Joining & leaving groups

Groups are smaller spaces inside your community, each with its own feed. Some are open to everyone; others are unlocked when you buy a product or subscribe to a plan. Here's how to find them and join.

Browse and join free groups

You can browse groups from the groups area or by searching. Free groups are open to everyone, so you can join one yourself with a single click. No request, no approval, no waiting.

Once you're in, the group's feed is yours to read and post in like any other feed.

Paid groups

Some groups are paid. You can't join those on your own. A paid group is unlocked when you have access to it, which comes from buying a product or subscribing to a plan that includes the group.

You never buy a group on its own. It's always included as part of a product or plan. Once your purchase or subscription gives you access, the group opens up and you can take part in it.

Each group has its own feed

Every group is a separate space with its own posts, comments, and reactions. Posting in a group works the same as posting anywhere else in the community. What you share in a group stays in that group's feed.

Leaving a group

You can leave a free group whenever you want. Leaving stops the group's posts from showing up for you and removes you from the group. You can always join a free group again later.

For a group you got through a product or plan, your access follows that purchase or subscription. If a subscription ends, access to its groups ends with it.

What you can't do

A few things in groups are handled by the community's admins, not by members:

  • You can't create a group. New groups are set up by admins.
  • You can't edit a group's name, description, or settings.
  • There are no group invites. You join free groups yourself, and you get into paid groups through a product or plan. There's no way to invite someone or be invited.
